Arsenal star Kieran Tierney has provided a positive update after he underwent knee surgery.
The 24-year-old left-back is expected to miss the remainder of the Premier League season in a blow to the Gunners' hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
And it will be touch and go to see if Tierney makes it for Scotland's World Cup play-off matches in June.
But Tierney took to social media on Thursday night after he went under the knife. Smiling while sitting on his hospital bed, he wrote: 'Op went well. Thank you so much for all the messages of support. Really appreciate it.'
He missed Monday night's 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace after the knee issue was discovered, having been a regular for Mikel Arteta's team prior to that with 25 appearances this season.
It is believed he had been carrying a knock for some time, and assessments and scans at Arsenal confirmed the extent of the damage.
Arteta's side performed poorly at Selhurst Park in his absence with replacement Nuno Tavares substituted at half-time. The Gunners host Brighton on Saturday afternoon as they aim to move back above rivals Tottenham into fourth.
Scotland are set to take on Ukraine in their World Cup qualifying play-off semi-final at some point in June, with the winner going on to face Wales for a place in Qatar.
Whoever qualifies will face England, Iran and the United States in their World Cup group.
Scotland must also play four UEFA Nations League fixtures in June amid a busy schedule.
Tierney netted in the 1-1 friendly draw with Poland during March's internationals.
