Arsenal have reportedly made an offer for Wolves goalkeeper Daniel Bentley.

As reported by Mail Sport earlier this month, the Gunners are keen on the 31-year-old, who came through their academy.

Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his goalkeeping department having already sealed the permanent signing of David Raya from Brentford.

According to The Sun, Arsenal have made a £300,000 offer for Bentley and hope to clinch a deal.

However, Wolves want £1m instead but the two clubs are close to finding a compromise.

Wolves played second choice to Jose Sa last season and was limited to just three Premier League appearances.

He has kept three clean sheets in seven appearances across all competitions for Wolves and played 67 minutes against Arsenal in December.

Bentley came through Arsenal's ranks but left at the age of 15 to join Southend United in 2009.

The goalkeeper has since had spells at Brentford and Bristol City before joining Wolves 18 months ago.

Bentley would bring experience to Arsenal but is unlikely to have significant playing time as Raya and Aaron Ramsdale are ahead of him in the pecking order.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have completed the signing of Ajax's 18-year-old goalkeeper Tommy Setford for just under £1m.
