Arsenal fans FUME over yellow & black kit saying it's 'not appropriate for UCL '

Arsenal fans have taken to social media to vent their anger as the club release their new away kit for 2023-24.

The Gunners revealed their new strip on Tuesday morning and the new bold design hasn't gone down well with some Arsenal fans.

The new kit celebrates the club's Islington roots and comes in a striking fluorescent yellow design, with wavy black lines - which represents the map of the London borough.

Launching the new shirt, Arsenal released a promotional video featuring Gunners stars from both the men's and women's team, along with celebrity fans such as Mabel and Martin Kemp.

Arsenal fans will get to see the shirt in action for the first time when Mikel Arteta's side face an MLS All-Stars side led by Wayne Rooney in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

However, the design has already been dismissed by fans online who have been horrified by the away strip, which replaces last year's popular black and gold change shirt.

'Absolutely disgusting, won’t be buying that.' One fan wrote on Twitter upon seeing the shirt, while another simply stated 'This is the worst jersey my team has ever had.'

Perhaps most bizarrely, there was even a suggestion that the shirt wasn't right for Arsenal's return to the Champions League, with a fan commenting 'You chose the worst timing. This is no appropriate for the Champions League.'

The negative reaction continued with a supporter suggesting Arsenal won't be selling many of the shirts by saying 'Genuinely curious how this will sell. Could be the lowest purchased shirt in our recent history.'

A view that was backed-up by another tweet that read, 'Even if it's on 50% sale.. I won't buy it.' While another likened it's look to something you might wear to bed - 'What in the pyjamas is this?' they said.

It's a shirt that Arsenal fans hope will see the club once again challenge Man City for the title this season, having finished runners-up to Pep Guardiola's charges last year.

In a bid to go one better in 2023-24, the club have splashed the cash this summer by bringing in Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and making Delcan Rice the most expensive English player in history with his £105m move to the Emirates.

Yet, despite the excitement and expectation on the red side of North London, it seems it hasn't extended to the new away shirt.

In fact, one Gooner tweeted his overall score for the shirt, and it didn't mark well.

'Shocking. 0/10.' Said the fan, which seems to sum-up the opinion of their new away kit.
