Your morning Arsenal digest on Sunday, August 27.

Fulham frustrations

Arsenal were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw by Fulham yesterday as the Gunners lost their 100% record in the Premier League.

Andreas Pereira had put the visitors ahead within a minute before quickfire goals by Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah put Mikel Arteta's men ahead. However, Joao Palhinha's 87th minute striker meant the spoils were shared.

Saka's Ballon d'Or dream

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has opened up on his dream to one day win the Ballon d'Or trophy. The 21-year-old finished eighth in the rankings for the Ballon d'Or Kopa Trophy last season, a prize given to the best performing player in the world under the age of 21.

"Obviously you always have that [winning the award] as a dream but I just try to focus on the moments I can control right now," he told the Guardian. "How can I help myself, my club and country to win. I think those things [individual awards] come if you achieve that.

"Of course it’s not easy. But nothing worth having is easy. So you have to be willing [to sacrifice]. It’s about how much you want it."

Havertz faces criticism

Arsenal star Kai Havertz has been criticised for his display in the Gunners 2-2 draw with Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The former Chelsea attacker started in Mikel Arteta's midfield three alongside Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice for the third consecutive game of the season. However, despite receiving plaudits for his performances against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, the Germany international struggled against Marco Silva's side.

Darren Bent, who was reporting on the game on Sky Sports' Gillette Soccer Saturday, was also critical of Havertz's performance. He tweeted afterwards: "I'll always back players that play for your club, but Havertz isn't working in this Arsenal team. The midfield has no balance and right now, he's offering nothing."
