Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli wins kosher supermarket voucher

Gabriel Martinelli has become used to that winning feeling lately as Arsenal race towards the Premier League title.

But the Brazilian star's streak of success apparently extends off the field as well after he reportedly won a £100 voucher for a kosher supermarket chain in a raffle.

Students from the Shalom Noam primary school in the Edgware district of north London were selling raffle tickets on the street where Martinelli lives and persuaded him to buy one.

According to the Times of Israel, Martinelli then actually won the top prize and now has a voucher to spend at the Shefa Mehadrin shops.

Martinelli, 21, isn't Jewish but will surely find something to spend his voucher on.

The winger has scored 13 times for the Gunners in this season's Premier League and also contributed four assists in all competitions.

Martinelli has scored in recent wins over Fulham and Crystal Palace, as well as providing the cross for Ben White's goal in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Leeds United.

That win re-established Arsenal's eight-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table with nine matches still to play. City retain a game in hand.

Arsenal face a crucial trip to Liverpool this Sunday as they bid to keep ahead of the reigning champions.

The last time Arsenal lifted the Premier League trophy was back in 2004, when Arsene Wenger's 'Invincibles' famously went the entire season undefeated.

If they're able to hold off City and go all the way, it would be the fourth time they've been champions of England in the Premier League era.
