Arsenal target Buendia 'accepts he must wait until summer' to clinch a move

Arsenal look set into being forced to wait until the summer for the chance to land Norwich star Emiliano Buendia.

Buendia has been a key player in the attack for the Canaries this term who currently top the Championship at the half-way point of the season and are in good shape to book an instant promotion back to the top flight following relegation last season.

The 24-year-old has scored seven goal from 20 Championship appearances this term, while also providing seven assists.

But according to Goal, the Canaries' valuation of £40million for the Argentine has put the Gunners off making a move this month although they are likely to plan a swoop in the summer.

Norwich's valuation is a reflection of not wanting to do any business in a season that could see them return to the riches of the top flight.

The report claims that while Buendia is in favour of a move to the Emirates Stadium, he is ready to accept staying at Carrow Road until at least the end of the season.

Canaries boss Daniel Farke has also insisted that Buendia stays with the club, calling a move to the Emirates this month senseless.

'He is a proper team-mate, concentrated in the training sessions and the last game,' Farke said this week.

'He is absolutely happy and knows he has a coach and team-mates who want him to be successful and love him.

'Arsenal are one of the best clubs in this country and also Europe. But it makes no sense to have a move in January.'

Arsenal's negotiation status has been weakened, with many clubs knowing that Mikel Arteta is desperate for some creative back-up for youngster Emile Smith-Rowe, with Mesut Ozil finalising a free transfer to Fenerbahce.
