Arsenal vs West Ham: TV, stream & preview

  /  autty

After beginning his Gunners tenure with consecutive defeats, Unai Emery will be desperate to break the losing run with three points at the Emirates

Arsenal will host West Ham in their third Premier League game of the season on Saturday, with plenty of work to do for both London clubs after a poor start to the season.

The Gunners and the Hammers have accumulated a grand total of zero points so far in the Premier League, going down to back-to-back defeats on the opening two weekends.

Unai Emery's men in particular will hope for better fortunes in their second game at the Emirates Stadium after losing their opener to reigning champions Manchester City.

There have been signs the Emery revolution is beginning to take effect, but will it be enough to down a West Ham team who also have a point to prove on Saturday?

Match Preview

After all the tension and excitement of 'Wenger Out', Arsenal fans are quickly learning that a new face on the bench is no guarantee of success.

Wenger's replacement Emery was perhaps unfortunate to face two heavyweights in the shape of Manchester City and Chelsea in a Premier League baptism of fire.

But the bare statistics do not lie: after two games Arsenal have failed to pick up a point, scoring just twice and conceding a worrying five goals from that daunting pair of fixtures.

At least against Chelsea there were signs that the ex-Sevilla and PSG coach has the means to turn it around. Arsenal fought back from two goals down at Stamford Bridge and were unlucky to see Marcos Alonso seal a late win for the Blues.

Still, he will be demanding far better at home to West Ham, exactly the kind of game in which the Gunners have no room for error if they want to reclaim a place in the Champions League come May.

Manuel Pellegrini, however, will also be keen to turn around his side's failing fortunes after defeats against Liverpool and Bournemouth saw the Hammers join Arsenal, Fulham and Huddersfield in the Premier League basement without a single point.

West Ham spent big over the summer, and the onus will be on the likes of Felipe Anderson, former Gunner Jack Wilshere and Andriy Yarmolenko to prove they were worth the outlay.

There is certainly no shortage of talent in the east Londoners' squad, although they will have to be at their absolute best to deny the Gunners their maiden win of the season and further pile pressure on Emery.
