Arsenal teenager Emile Smith Rowe is set to 'join RB Leipzig on loan until the end of the season'.
The 18-year-old has emerged as a real talent at the Emirates under boss Unai Emery but has found opportunities outside of cup competitions hard to come by.
And according to the Independent, Smith Rowe has been assured of regular minutes at the German club and Arsenal have sanctioned the move with a view to him playing a bigger role on his return.
RB Leipzig are currently fourth in the Bundesliga and is widely viewed as a good environment for young players to develop.
Everton's Ademola Lookman enjoyed a spell with the club and there will be plenty of anticipation that Smith Rowe can follow the example set by Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund.
The 18-year-old left Manchester City for Dortmund and has thrived in the black and yellow having been given regular starts both domestically and in the Champions League.
Arsenal's decision to bring in Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez looks to have opened the door for Smith Rowe's temporary exit this month given his chances for games was limited after exits in both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.
The academy starlet shone in the first half of the season, netting three times from six appearances.
But without an appearance since picking up a hip injury in November, a fresh start for the remainder of the campaign it is hoped will act as the next stage of his development.
