Arsenal transfer news: Kieran Tierney's future is yet to be resolved after seemingly looking destined to leave the club this summer
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has all but ruled out a move for Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney this summer.
He did make 36 appearances across all competitions last season, although only 15 of them were starts. Jurrien Timber's £34.2million switch from Ajax placed further doubt over his future, with a list of clubs interested.
Speculation linking Tierney with a move to Spain has somewhat cooled in the last week, with Sociedad now pursuing a move for Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon.
Newcastle have already been busy in the transfer market, signing Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes and Tivo Livramento. And head coach Howe has confirmed that Hall's arrival will be their final deal of the window.
"It's a loan deal. He's a player I like - very versatile with really good potential," he said in his pre-Manchester City press conference. "Let's see what happens today. If we do bring a player in (Hall), that will be our transfer business concluded, unless injuries happen."
Newcastle and Sociedad's decision to go elsewhere leaves Tierney's future in north London in limbo. Timber's ACL injury means he's likely to play a key part in Arsenal's season at left-back, but his style of play as a natural wing-back does not supplement Arteta's vision.
With less than two weeks to go of the transfer window, Tierney is edging closer to remaining at Arsenal.
