Aston Villa failed to capitalise on an excellent opportunity to claim their second win of the season as they were unable to break down 10-man West Ham at Villa Park.
Tensions almost boiled over in the first-half when Villa team-mates Anwar El Ghazi and Tyrone Mings squared up to each other after a disagreement and West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku was shown a second yellow card for an innocuous foul midway through the second half
The Hammers looked most likely to turn one point into three after Masuaku's dismissal, seeing a couple of long-range efforts blocked in the last 10 minutes.
