Aston Villa are showing interest in Las Palmas' highly-rated attacking midfielder Alberto Moleiro.
The 19-year-old, who has been tracked by Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid, is being closely monitored by Villa boss Unai Emery, as he looks to Spain to find players to bolster his squad.
Moleiro finds himself likened to Barcelona superstar Pedri and he is playing a key role in Las Palmas' promotion push this season.
The teenager made his breakthrough into the first team in the 2021-22 season, playing 38 times across all competitions.
As a result of that Moleiro penned a new long-term deal, running through until 2026, but given his form it is widely accepted he will leave before that contract is up.
If Emery could entice Moleiro to Villa Park he would be picking up a player that, in Spain's second division so far this season, only two players are bettering his 29 chances created in open play.
With Villa sitting 11th in the table Emery is keen to make additions to propel them into the top half and into a serious battle for the top eight.
'We are speaking and we are working on the possibility to add some players,' the former Arsenal and Villarreal boss said this week.
'We are speaking as well with some players who can leave. Really, I want to improve everything we can in the squad but I'm so happy with the players because I think we have very good players.
'But, of course, we can improve and we can add in some position because I think we are not plentiful in the positions in the squad that I want.
'The next four weeks, we are going to try to add some players but, really, only if they improve our team.'
