Aston Villa of the Premier League is actively looking for a potential successor to their main goalkeeper E. Martinez, and they have set their sights on two young French Ligue 1 goalkeepers.

The two targets are Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser  and Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes . Risser has performed well since transferring from Strasbourg to Lens last season, becoming the team's main player this season and is expected to be called up to the French national team; Restes is a French youth international and is considered a more cost-effective option.

Although E. Martinez's contract with Villa runs until 2029, the club has begun preparing for his possible departure. Villa hopes to complete the replacement by introducing a young and promising French Ligue 1 goalkeeper, while continuing to maintain the team's competitiveness in the Premier League and European competitions.

Currently, Villa's investigation of the two goalkeepers is still in progress. Risser may be more expensive due to participating in the Champions League next season, while Restes is considered easier to reach an agreement with.
