Atletico winger Lemar's next destination could be Wolves (MD)

Wolves could reportedly be Thomas Lemar's next destination as Atletico Madrid look to cash-in on the Frenchman.

Lemar was viewed as one of the most exciting wingers around when he joined Atletico in a £52.7million deal in the summer of 2018, but things certainly haven't gone to plan for the 24-year-old.

Atletico are now looking to offload Lemar after struggling at the Wanda Metropolitano - he has failed to score in 21 matches in all competitions so far this season.

And according to Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo, Premier League outfit Wolves have emerged as another option for Lemar.

Wolves, who signed Jonny Otto and Diogo Jota directly from Atletico, are hoping that agent Jorge Mendes' relationship with the Spanish giants can help lure Lemar to the Molineux.

Mendes played a key role in Portuguese wonderkid Joao Felix joining Atletico in the summer transfer window.

The report claims that Atletico would accept a transfer fee for Lemar that would see them recover a good part of the £52.7m they forked out two years ago.

It has also been reported that Atletico would accept an initial loan move until the end of the season for the Frenchman, with a view to then sell permanently.
