Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang eclipsed Arsenal legend Thierry Henry when he opened the scoring in the 4-0 thrashing of Norwich City on Wednesday night.
The Gabon international took advantage of a blunder from Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul and slotted into an empty net at the Emirates.
It was his 50th Premier League goal for the Gunners in just 75 appearances since his club record £56million switch from Borussia Dortmund in 2018.
In contrast Henry took 83 matches to reach his half century for Arsenal.
Afterwards Aubameyang told Sky Sports: ‘[I am] really proud, really proud.
'First of all, I am proud of the team. Think we deserved the win, we did a great job. Everyone worked really well, really happy and proud.
I think I’m really happy today, my performance was good. I’m always happy to score goals and help this team to win.
Aubameyang’s strike in the 33rd minute was his 21st of the season.
He then turned provider as Granit Xhaka doubled Arsenal’s lead before half-time.
Aubameyang added his second after the break before Cedric Soares scored his first goal for the club to cap an emphatic 4-0 victory against the basement boys.
