Barcelona has carried out other maneuvers to strengthen the squad for next season with the aim of consolidating the project started since the arrival of Xavi at the Camp Nou. One of the strategic signings is that of Lewandowski, Polish striker of Bayern Munich.
The agreement with the player would not pose any problem due to Lewandowski's interest in changing the air and the good relations between president Laporta and the player's representative, Pini Zahivi, who takes care of his interests since 2018, when he left Cezary Kucharski, agent who took him to German football in 2010. Barca would offer him four seasons, until June 2026.
On the other hand, Barca offers him the possibility of leading what would be Xavi's first initial project on the Barça bench. The Egarense coach, although he now has Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is offering an immediate performance, wants a player of proven guarantee – a star – to finish the actions of the talented midfield and the game by the bands that he is molding to get the most out of his football idea.
Barca understand that Lewandowski can perform at the top level two more years (until June 2024) but for his quality and professionalism, he is one of those players focused on his career, so he could extend his current performance as he has been doing for years. There are his records, sustained over time: 339 goals in 366 games. He finished the past seasons with 40, 55, 48 and 45 goals.
Barca, on the other hand, need a star and have thought of Lewandowski to fill the void that remained in the squad after the departure of Leo Messi to PSG in the summer of 2021. With a world-class player in its ranks, in addition, the Barcelona team would have a more attractive and global image for its sponsors.
Lewandowski has never distinguished himself by being a conflicted or problematic footballer. His attitude on and off the pitch has been exemplary and professional. In Germany he was only sent off with a straight red card on one occasion, when he was defending the Dortmund shirt in a match against Hamburg in February 2013.
