Barça are set to charge United fans 117 euros for tickets in the away sector so the Premier League club has set the same price for Culés travelling to Manchester.
The Champions League quarter final tie between FC Barcelona and Manchester United has already started between both clubs after the Catalan side confirmed the away fans ticket prices with the news causing the Old Trafford side to retaliate soon after.
Barcelona have set tickets for visiting supporters at 117 euros (102 pounds). This makes the Camp Nou quarter final ticket the most expensive United match ticket outside of a final as United later played tit-for-tat setting the same price for Barcelona supporters travelling to England.
'Red Devils' fans have been allocated a quantity of 4.610 match tickets for the first leg at Camp Nou on Wednesday April 10 with the return leg on April 16 in Manchester.
A statement on the United official website relating to the issue stated: “We believe that our travelling supporters are again being subjected to increased/excessive ticket prices from the host club,”. “We have again taken the difficult decision to charge Barcelona fans the same amount Barcelona are charging for the away fixture (£102). We will use the additional revenue gained to subsidise our travelling support by paying the £27 price difference.”
It's hoped that governing body UEFA step in and investigate the matter with the case involving Anderlect's pricing policy for the visit of Bayern in last season's competition fresh in the memory with the Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body forcing the Belgian side to repay the overcharged visiting German supporters.
