The League One clash between Barnsley and Burton had to be postponed after a fan fell ill at the ground and an air ambulance was forced to land on the pitch at the Oakwell Stadium.
Both sets of players had been out to warm-up and were preparing to get the game under way at the scheduled 3pm kick-off time, but were sent back to their dressing rooms.
Emergency services were called when a man collapsed on the edge of the pitch toward the corner flag, next to where the Burton players had been warming up.

At 3:30pm an air ambulance landed inside the ground and officials were forced to call the match off. The air ambulance eventually lifted the unwell man away at approximately 4:00pm.
Barnsley tweeted: 'Due to the circumstances the match has been postponed. Barnsley Football Club will look to provide further update when appropriate to do so.'
Burton also provided a message of their own: 'It has been announced here at Oakwell that, due to a medical emergency, today's game between Barnsley and Burton Albion has been postponed.'
'It goes without saying, but all our thoughts are with those affected.'
One fan at the game shared a video on social media of the helicopter landing on the pitch.
Accompanied with the video, the Twitter user said: 'Air ambulance attends Oakwell Stadium as someone falls ill before kick off. Match postponed after 40 minutes. Really puts football into perspective.'
Barnsley, who sat third in the league table prior to Saturday's matches, were hoping to continue their strong start to the season at home to Burton, but the game will now be rescheduled.
Speaking after the match was called off, Burton manager Nigel Clough, insisted it was the right decision and wished the man well.
'First and foremost everyone at Burton Albion hopes the gentleman is OK and, in the scheme of it, football doesn't matter,' Clough told Burton's website.
'When it was announced the game was called off all the crowd were applauding respectfully as they realise it's the right decision.'
'We also think it was definitely the right decision to call off the game. Our players were not in the right mental condition to play the match.
'When you go out at five to three and everyone's buzzing and right for the game and then something like this happens right where our players were doing their little bit of warm up, they come in and naturally several were distressed.
'It was our lads who spotted what happened and who called the mediical people over. They were right in front of it as were our supporters. Nick Fenton was one of the first people over there as the lads were calling for people to be quick as they knew something was wrong straight away.
'The referee and linesmen have all been brilliant about it and it's the right thing to do.'
