Monaco left-back Antonio Barreca is set to join Newcastle United on loan with an option to buy.
Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports Barreca is due in Newcastle on Wednesday, where he will undergo a medical and sign his contract.
The Sky Sport Italia journalist writes the Magpies will pay €1m to loan the former Torino defender until the end of the season, at which point they can purchase him for a further €9m.
Newcastle went back in for Barreca after a deal for Lazio’s Jordan Lukaku fell through.
