England and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has proven himself to be quite handy with a cricket bat during his winter break from LaLiga.

With Real Madrid not playing again until January 3, the 20-year-old returned to England for the holiday season, catching his younger brother Jobe Bellingham in action for Sunderland twice.

In a series of photos from his Christmas holiday, Jude also shared a clip of himself at a virtual cricket net, and proved to be a good batter, hitting a very convincing six.

It led former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan to respond 'Nice shot' alongside some fire emojis.

The video was also shared by BBC's Test Match Special on X (formerly Twitter), who wrote: 'Don't bowl there to Jude Bellingham'.

Bellingham has proven himself to be a big cricket fan, posting in the summer about how the Ashes series was a "joy to watch".

Sixes Social Cricket have 11 venues across the country where the public can test their skills in virtual nets, with Bellingham among those using them in December.

He was at the Stadium of Light for Jobe's Championship match against Coventry City on Saturday afternoon, before being spotted at Hull City's stadium three days later for Sunderland's away day.

Jude has enjoyed a stunning start to life in the Spanish capital since his £113million move, scoring 17 goals in his first 21 appearances across all competitions.

Real Madrid are next in action on January 3 against Mallorca, their first fixture since manager Carlo Ancelotti extended his club contract until 2026.

The work Ancelotti has been doing this season - including the development of instant superstar Jude - is believed to have firmed up his resolve to stay on.

Earlier this month, Mail Sport looked at how Jude and Jobe's parents Mark and Denise Bellingham work hard to support their children in England and Spain.
