Betting Tips: Huesca vs Atletico Madrid

Los Rojiblancos may be second in the table but we are not expecting Simeone's men to record a big win at La Liga's basement club this weekend

Atletico Madrid play their first ever La Liga match at Huesca's Estadio El Alcoraz on Saturday.

Diego Simeone's men remain second in the table yet will have to improve their form on the road to challenge for the title, as they have only won twice in nine away games this term.

The trip to Huesca provides an excellent opportunity for Los Rojiblancos to pick up a third away win of the season, with the La Liga newcomers rooted to the bottom of the table.

The hosts are priced at 9/2 (5.50) with bet365 to record what would only be their second home win of the season. Atletico can be backed at 4/6 (1.66) with the draw offered at 5/2 (3.50).

Atletico remain without striker Diego Costa while defenders Stefan Savic and Filipe Luis are unlikely to be involved either.

Huesca could give a debut to new signing Enric Gallego, who has joined from Extremadura after scoring 15 goals in the Segunda Division this season. The Aragonese outfit are still without defenders Luisinho and Rajko Brezancic.

No team in La Liga has notched more than Atletico's six draws away from home and the Madrid outfit have struggled to replicate the form they show at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

They may be second in the table, but eight teams in the Spanish top flight have score more than Atletico's total of ten goals on the road and eight of their nine away league games have seen less than 2.5 goals.

A repeat is on offer at 4/6 (1.66) and despite Huesca being bottom of the table, we should not expect the goals to flow as they have only conceded 12 times all season at home (the same number as Barcelona at Camp Nou).

Atletico should be too strong for their opponents and backing an away win with under 2.5 goals in the game at 12/5 (3.40) looks like an attractive option.

This bet has paid out in eight of their last 11 away league wins, and if we expect Simeone's side to triumph once more, backing them to do so in a low-scoring game makes sense.
