Neither Italian outfit has been strong in front of goal this season and our tipster is backing at least one side to keep a clean sheet in Genoa
Monday night’s Serie A action comes from Stadio Luigi Ferraris as Sampdoria host SPAL with both sides looking to kickstart their respective seasons.
Sampdoria have won just once in their last five games, a resounding 5-0 win over struggling Frosinone, but are 888Sport’s 10/13 (1.77) favourites to win here.
Their opponents have not fared much better recently with just one win in four and SPAL are out at 7/2 (4.50) to win here. The draw can be backed at 5/2 (3.50).
The inconsistent form of both sides means that it is not worth punting on either team to win, and perhaps better value exists in the goals market.
Both teams to score is priced at 4/5 (1.80) but opposing this pays out at 19/20 (1.95) and is surely more worthy of backing ahead of this clash in Genoa.
SPAL are the second-lowest scorers in the league with just four goals to their name, two of which came in one match, and their total of 77 shots is the fifth fewest in Serie A. As well, none of their six matches have seen both teams score.
The story is largely the same for Sampdoria too, with their total of nine goals slightly skewed by the win over Frosinone who have conceded 18 goals in their seven games.
La Samp have mustered just 67 shots, the second lowest amount in Serie A, and just once this season has a game involving them seen goals at both ends.
Given the lack of attacking these sides have shown in recent weeks, it is very difficult to see both sides finding the net and the 19/20 (1.95) quote from 888Sport looks great value for this Monday night clash.
