Betting Tips: West Brom vs Brentford

Monday's Championship clash sees the Baggies host a Bees side that have been woeful on the road this term and look set for more disappointment

West Bromwich Albion will be looking to cement their spot in the play-offs when they welcome Brentford to the Hawthorns on Monday evening.

888Sport go 4/5 (1.80) that the home side come out on top and that looks well worth considering given how these sides have done so far.

West Brom have taken 19 points from nine home games this term. A win here would see them leapfrog the likes of Leeds United and Norwich City to the top of the home form table.

Brentford meanwhile, have been woeful on their travels. Thomas Frank took over from Dean Smith in October and the Bees have been battling a serious bout of travel sickness throuhgout the campaign to date.

Just four points from nine games away from Griffin Park and six defeats in their last seven matches mean the 3/1 (4.0) about the visitors coming out on top look particularly unattractive. The draw is 11/4 (3.75) with 888Sport.

Given the Baggies have recovered from something of a wobble to win each of their last three matches - including a thumping 4-1 win over Leeds United - they should be supported again here at 4/5 (1.80).

Frank's side have been on the scoreboard in each of their last three games despite coming up empty handed in all of them. With that in mind the 11/5 (3.20) about a West Brom win where both teams score could be an option for those seeking bigger potential returns from this clash.

In terms of bigger prices though, there is a standout opportunity to back one of the most impressive young players in the second tier to shine once more.

Harvey Barnes is on loan at the Hawthorns from Leicester City and the 20-year-old is taking full advantage of his opportunity with Darren Moore's side.

Barnes has seven goals already this term and a strike against Brentford would be his third in four games.

Given the visitors have kept just one clean sheet in their last 13 games in all competitions, 888Sport's quote of 14/5 (3.80) about Barnes finding the net once more looks generous and well worth a smaller stake.
