Betting: Who will win the Premier League Golden Boot 2019-20?

The award was shared by three players last season but can fit-again Tottenham striker Harry Kane claim the prize for the third time in his career?

The Premier League Golden Boot is one of the most popular ante-post betting markets and this season is expected to be no different.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang shared the crown last season with 22 goals each, the third time the award has been handed to three players in the same campaign.

The tussle for the individual prize in 2019-20 is set to be just as tight, with bet365’s top five favourites all previous winners.

Harry Kane is 4/1 (5.0) favourite to win the Golden Boot for the third time in his career. One of the deadliest marksmen in the Premier League, the England captain has 125 goals in just 181 games in the competition.

The Spurs striker previously won the award in 2015-16 and 16-17, narrowly missing out on a hat-trick of awards the season after with his 30 strikes not enough to match Salah’s record-breaking total of 32.

An injury-hit campaign last time out meant he could only muster 17 goals in the 28 games he played, which is still an impressive return that may make him a popular choice this season.

Next in the betting with bet365 is Salah at 5/1 (6.0), who has taken the Premier League by storm since joining Liverpool and is out to win his third Golden Boot in a row.

The Egyptian has 54 goals in just 74 appearances for the Reds in the league, ending each of his two seasons as top scorer, finding the net in 57 per cent of those appearances.

Sergio Aguero is an 11/2 (6.50) shot to win the Golden Boot for just the second time in his illustrious career despite boasting 164 Premier League goals - the sixth-most of all time.

As well, the Manchester City striker has scored 20 or more goals in each of the last five campaigns and is sure to be in the running once again as Pep Guardiola’s men look to make it three titles in a row.

Aubameyang is available at 8/1 (9.0) to continue his fine goalscoring form since joining Arsenal by winning the Golden Boot again.

A brace against Burnley on the final day of last season ensured he shared the prize and, although he will share striking duties with Alexandre Lacazette, his price may be long enough to garner some interest.

Mane had the best season of his career last time out with 22 strikes and is 12/1 (13.0) to replicate that success by winning the Golden Boot again this term.

The Liverpool forward had an excellent second half of the campaign, plundering 14 of his strikes in 2019, although the 12/1 (13.0) quote may prove too short for a player who had previously never scored more than 13 goals in a Premier League season.

Also at 12/1 (13.0) is Raheem Sterling, with the Manchester City man having scored the opening strike in the Community Shield against Liverpool on Sunday.

With 35 Premier League strikes across his last two seasons, the winger could be in line to finally break the coveted 20-goal mark after firmly establishing himself as a star for the champions.

Set to be Manchester United’s frontline striker this season, Marcus Rashford is 16/1 (17.0) to become the first Red Devil since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson to win the Golden Boot.

However, even that relatively lengthy price is unlikely to convince many punters considering he has just 27 Premier League goals to his name in 111 appearances.

Jamie Vardy can be found at 20/1 (21.0) and may offer significant place value at the very least, given that the Leicester striker has accumulated 75 league goals in the last four seasons.

Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe is a 33/1 (34.0) shot to announce his Premier League arrival in style by winning the Golden Boot, whilst West Ham’s record signing Sebastian Haller is 40/1 (41.0) with bet365.
