Jude Bellingham's move to Real Madrid will land Birmingham a windfall of at least £4.3million, according to sources in Germany.
The Championship club were celebrating on Tuesday as the Spanish giants paid Borussia Dortmund £113m for their academy product, ensuring a much-needed cash boost for Birmingham.
When the original sale to Dortmund is factored in, Birmingham should receive around £30m for the 19-year-old England star.
The Bellingham fee would help Blues as they aim to stay within the limits of Financial Fair Play. Bellingham's younger brother Jobe, 17, could depart Blues to generate extra revenue, with Sunderland interested in the midfielder.
Dortmund paid Blues around £25m for Jude in 2020 after his breakthrough season in the Championship.
After becoming Blues’ youngest ever player in August 2019, Bellingham went on to make 44 appearances for his boyhood club.
Such was his impact at St Andrew’s that Bellingham’s No22 shirt was retired after a single season, with a mural paying tribute to him created near the stadium.
