Blackpool fans have finally ended their boycott of the team's games as the club confirmed a change of bank account mandate following the appointment of a new board.

Supporters had been furious with the lack of investment under the ownership of the Oyston family, and since relegation from the Premier League in 2011 the two parties have been involved in a long running feud.

Chairman Owen Oyston was removed from the board on Monday, with Ben Hatton, Ian Currie and Tim Fielding, coming into the club in new roles.

Following the announcement, the League One outfit confirmed on their website that the bank account mandate had been changed, effectively ending supporters' 'stay away' protests.

Blackpool's next home game is against Southend United on March 9, but fans have already been forming long queues outside the stadium looking to grab a ticket as soon as possible.

The League One side have confirmed that nearly 5,200 tickets have  been sold for the clash with the Essex outfit, which already would be their second biggest home attendance of the season.

However, it will be the largest crowd consisting of home supporters at Bloomfield Road this term, with the 10,000 that watched the 1-0 defeat by Sunderland on New Year's Day consisting of over 7,000 Black Cats supporters.

A club statement revealed they expected many more to be sold, reading: 'A huge demand is expected for tickets, so please bear with staff while they work through the queues and prepare to welcome everybody back to Bloomfield Road. Up The Mighty Pool.

Blackpool midfielder Jay Spearing was delighted to see the fans flocking back as he took to Twitter to post an image of the queues, while welcoming back the supporters.

Spearing said: 'What A Fantastic Sight! Blackpool Fans Queuing For Tickets #welcomeback #UTMP'.

The Tangerines are away from home this weekend as they try to maintain their hopes of reaching the play-offs when they travel to Bristol Rovers.
