Chelsea injury news - Levi Colwill has played every game of the season so far for Chelsea, but fears have arisen over his fitness heading into the international break.
The Cobham academy graduate has impressed since making his way through the ranks, enjoying successful back-to-back loan spells with Huddersfield Town and then Brighton and Hove Albion. This summer saw plenty of speculation over the future of Colwill, with uncertainty over whether he would stay with the Blues.
The 20-year-old was linked with a return to Brighton, meanwhile rivals Liverpool and Manchester City were also believed to be interested. However, he had dashed any hopes of those clubs as pen was put to paper on a new contract that runs all the way until 2029.
It has, at times, led the Blues to being slightly disjointed down the left, with changes expected later on in the season to a more natural fit for all involved. For now though, Colwill is impressing and has even earned himself a call-up to the senior England international squad.
Following on from his triumph in the under 21s European Championships earlier this year, the youngster will be hopeful he can make his debut and shine for the Three Lions. It remains to be seen if he will be able to play though as recent reports have suggested that he may be injured heading into the break.
According to the Secret Scout, there have been scans to check that Colwill is fine after the defeat to Nottingham Forest at the weekend. So far, so good though as it seems as though he has been cleared to join up with the rest of the team at St George's Park before the next set of qualifiers.
It's positive news for the Blues, who have had their fair share of injury concerns within just a few weeks of the Premier League season getting underway.
