Todd Boehly completes Newcastle transfer hijack as Chelsea sign talented striker

Chelsea have completed the signing of Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards after hijacking Newcastle's move for the talented Jamaican striker. The Phoenix All Stars Academy in Kingston, Jamaica announced on social media on Saturday evening that the teenage striker had agreed pre-contract terms with the Blues, as per the Evening Standard.

Richards - who scored 31 goals and notched 19 assists last season for his current side - had recently been on trial in Newcastle’s academy and attended their 1-1 Premier League draw at St James’ Park last month. He has now agreed to join Chelsea as Todd Boehly continues to sign young talents that can develop into world-class players.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte delivers bold Chelsea prediction after crucial win vs Leicester

Chelsea picked up their third consecutive win in all competitions on Saturday afternoon as they won 3-1 against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. The Blues earned their first away win since the 2-0 victory against Aston Villa at Villa Park back in October last year.

Tottenham currently occupy fourth place in the Premier League table with Chelsea sitting 11 points adrift of their London rivals. Spurs boss Antonio Conte has now made a bold prediction regarding the Blues' chances of finishing inside the top four.

Todd Boehly summer transfer priorities revealed as Chelsea and Arsenal consider Palmeiras star

Chelsea have spent more money than any other Premier League club in the transfer market since Todd Boehly and the Clearlake Capital consortium completed a £4billion takeover at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have spent over £600million reshaping Graham Potter's squad with the arrivals of Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile and Co.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the 27-year-old Brazilian who continues to be tipped for a switch to the Premier League. Fabrizio Romano has weighed in on the speculation and suggested the Blues are focusing on other priorities.

It’s not too surprising to see plenty players being linked with a move to Chelsea, but for now Romano is unconvinced by the Veiga links. On the recent talk surrounding Veiga's potential move to Chelsea, Romano said: “There are many clubs interested in Raphael Veiga."
