Bournemouth have revived talks with Levante for Jefferson Lerma after they made a club record £27million offer for the midfielder.
Negotiations had stalled as the Spanish side demanded £32m for their star player.
Lerma represented Colombia at the World Cup and played in all four of his country's matches in Russia.
The 23-year-old first played for Atletico Huita back in Colombia before moving to Europe in 2015 when he agreed a one-year loan deal at Levante.
Lerma impressed to the extent that he made the move permanent and has since played for the club 56 times in La Liga.
He has been identified as Eddie Howe's top transfer target with time running out before the window closes.
