Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz has revealed that he has copied England international Jude Bellingham by cutting holes in his socks.
The Spaniard returned to Real Madrid in the summer after spending three years on loan at AC Milan.
Upon his return, Bellingham joined Los Blancos from Borussia Dortmund and it appears the pair have struck up a friendship, with Diaz speaking English dating back to his time at Man City.
Diaz has since revealed that he has taken inspiration from his new team-mate as he has copied Bellingham by cutting holes in his socks.
The phenomena has been seen across Europe, with several English players such as Bukayo Saka and Conor Gallagher also choosing to cut up their socks.
Speaking to Madrid news outlet Defensacentral.com, Diaz revealed his reasoning for copying Bellingham.
'My calves had gone up in the last few matches and I didn't know why,' he revealed.
'Bellingham runs for 90 minutes and he's fine, so I said I have to do something.'
He continued to joke that he is hoping that the decision doesn't backfire and cause him to pick up another injury this season.
'Let's hope they don't blow up again now that I go up the stairs!' he joked.
Fans had picked up on Bellingham's decision to cut up his socks dating back to his time in Germany.
The reason that players cut the back of socks is to relieve tension and prevent pain in their calves.
Tight socks can result in injuries and cutting holes is these has become a common solution for many players across football.
Diaz will be hoping that copying Bellingham in this way can lead to him replicating the form of his team-mate, who has been on fire in Madrid so far this season.
He has already broken the Real Madrid goalscoring record set by Cristiano Ronaldo, scoring 14 already this season.
