A 12-year-old Manchester City supporter was granted his dream of meeting hero Sergio Aguero before their Premier League clash with Watford

Ryan, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in March 2017 which has since been treated, wanted to meet Aguero after being taken to his first City game earlier this season, when they beat Brighton 2-0.

City were able to make the dream of the inspirational Walsall youngster come true, as they partnered with charity Make A Wish.

Ryan, accompanied by his parents and older brother, was given the VIP treatment for the recent fixture.

They were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the Etihad Stadium, including a sneak peek at the first-team dressing room, players' warm-up facilities and the press areas before anyone else had arrived.

He was then first in line to greet the whole squad on their arrival at the stadium, before taking part in a pitch side photo shoot with the club mascots, Moonbeam and Moonchester.

Ryan was a mascot for the game, and walked out onto the pitch hand in hand with Aguero, the club's all-time leading goal scorer and his hero.

City created a video of Ryan's big day - in it he expresses his delight at shaking hands with Aguero: 'I'm never washing this hand again!'

His mum, Lindsey, said: 'It was great to see Ryan smiling, he was in awe when he got to meet all the players and shake all of their hands – as they came off the coach, and also as he lead them through the tunnel at the start of the match!'

Ryan and his family watched from a VIP box as City beat Watford 3-1 to continue their defence of the Premier League title.
