Brendan Rodgers brushed off the chants from fans who want him to be sacked and insisted Leicester have the stomach to win their fight for survival.
The Foxes are in deep trouble after a 3-1 home defeat by Chelsea left them above the relegation zone by a single point. A group of supporters behind one goal called for Rodgers to be dismissed and there were loud boos at half-time and full-time.
Asked about the chants, Rodgers said: ‘It’s been the backdrop all season and it’s not a distraction for me or the squad. We are very much together.
‘You want the crowd to be behind the team but this how it has been since the summer. The frustration at the lack of activity in the transfer market spilled over into the season.
‘But we have to get through that. The supporters are clearly disappointed we didn’t get the result but the chanting doesn’t affect me. My focus is on the team and I will give my very best while I’m here.
‘One thing we have shown is that we can fight and have resilience and that’s what is going to be needed in these next 12 games.’
Chelsea boss Graham Potter has overseen a remarkable turnaround by leading his side to three wins in a week.
Before the previous round of matches, he was under serious pressure but Chelsea delivered six points in the league and overcame Borussia Dortmund to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
Potter said: ‘It’s been a really good week. The game was in the balance and our quality saw us over the line.’
