Brendan Rodgers has revealed that James Maddison was taken off as a 'precaution' during the second half of their 2-1 win away at Aston Villa.
Maddison, who opened the scoring with a brilliantly curled finish in off the post, was in the wars after the break, picking up a knock to his ankle before later going down with a hip problem.
The England international was forced off with the latter injury and was replaced by Nampalys Mendy on 64 minutes.
When asked about the injury to one of his key men, Rodgers replied: 'He had this issue last season and felt it in the game. We had to take him off as a precaution.'
The midfielder is now a doubt for Thursday's Europa League last-32 second-leg clash with Slavia Prague, with the tie finely poised after a 0-0 draw in the Czech Republic.
The Foxes moved back to second after beating Dean Smith's men, with Harvey Barnes capitalising on a spill by home goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez following a snapshot by Jamie Vardy to make it 2-0 before Bertrand Traore's consolation.
Rodgers' side will remain one place behind runaway leaders Manchester City if Manchester United fail to beat struggling Newcastle, who will be keen to get points on the board with Fulham breathing down their necks after a crucial 1-0 win over bottom club Sheffield United.
'My ambition was to get European football for the club and see if we could disrupt the market,' said Rodgers.
'Everyone knows what Champions League football brings to a club - but also a city - but I tend to not think about it so much, especially when we are so far out.
'It was an outstanding team performance in the first half. Our football was exceptional and we scored two very good goals.
'After midweek travel and a European game, the players really have to show their spirit and quality. I was so pleased and very proud of the team.'
Leicester's next league game is at home to Arsenal next Sunday.
