Brentford are finalising their £500,000 move for South Korea centre-back Kim Ji-Soo from Seongnam FC.
The 18-year-old was named in the team of the tournament for the U20 World Cup and has been compared to Kim Min-Jae of Napoli, who is expected to join Bayern Munich next month.
Kim is due in England this week to sign a four-year contract.
The defender has been highly regarded across Europe having been scouted regularly by Bayern Munich and Sporting Lisbon.
Brentford B have signed Romeo Beckham — son of David — from Inter Miami on a one-year deal following an impressive loan spell.
The 20-year-old's season on loan with the Bees B team has been made permanent, with the option of a further year.
Beckham featured 15 times for Neil MacFarlane's side since joining on loan, with Brentford winning the Premier League Cup last month.
'We added Romeo to our squad in January and he's been fantastic for the group,' MacFarlane said.
'He's had a terrific end to the season in terms of his recent match against Manchester City where he showed what he's learned during his loan with us.
'We've continued to develop him in and out of possession and we look forward to him coming back in good spirits to continue working with him next season.'
