Brest supporters’ bus attacked after Montpellier game

  /  autty

A bus, carrying Stade Brestois fans to Montpellier, was attacked after Sunday’s match between the two sides at the Stade de la Mosson.

Around 60 Brest fans made the trip to watch their side beat Montpellier HSC 3-1 on Sunday afternoon, however, on exiting the city on Sunday afternoon, the bus carrying them back up north was attacked. The bus received a police escort onto the motorway, however, the bus was then stoned by rocks seemingly thrown from a motorway bridge. The attack left multiple windows smashed.

However, unlike the attack on Olympique Lyonnais’ team bus in Marseille in late October, there were no serious injuries to report. Fabio Grosso was severely injured during the attack en route to the Vélodrome and the injury sustained required stitching. One Brest supporter was, however, struck by shards of glass. The bus, heavily damaged, managed to continue on its long journey towards Brittany.
