Brighton are closing on an £8million deal for 18-year-old Poland international midfielder Kacper Kozlowski.

Manchester City, Liverpool and AC Milan have all been following the progress of Kozlowski who plays for Pogon Szczecin who are second in the Polish league.

The teenager made his first team debut as a 15-year-old and has long been earmarked as a star for the future, picking up six full caps for Poland already, and figured for his country during Euro 2020.

Kozlowski would still require a work permit but they are hopeful that could be achieved on appeal and Brighton would then likely loan him out to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, the Belgian side owned by Brighton owner Tony Bloom, who are currently top of Belgium's Pro League.

Brighton also have been linked with a move for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz but are just maintaining a watching brief.

Blackburn want £20m for the Chile international and have interest from Spanish side Sevilla who value the 22-year-old at closer to £8million.

Meanwhile, Brighton defender Lewis Dunk is expected to miss around eight weeks after his knee ligament injury was reassessed.

The 30-year-old initially feared he faced surgery and months out but Brighton have decided not to operate and Dunk is targeting a return at the end of January.
