Brighton forward Abdallah Sima in talks over Rangers loan move

Brighton forward Abdallah Sima is in talks over a loan move to Rangers.

The Senegal international, 22, was signed by the Seagulls from Czech club Slavia Prague for £7million in 2021, but has yet to make an appearance for them, instead completing loan spells with Stoke City and Angers.

He played just four times for Championship side Stoke in the 2021-22 season before returning to Brighton because of injury problems.

But Sima was more productive at Angers in Ligue 1, where he scored six goals in 37 appearances last season.

Sima still has two years remaining on his Brighton contract but doesn't appear to feature in Roberto De Zerbi's plans for next season, with talks underway over a move to Ibrox.

With Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent leaving the Scottish club this summer, manager Michael Beale needs to freshen up his attack.

Croatian forward Antonio Colak, who impressed with 18 goals in his debut campaign, is attracting interest from a number of German clubs and could be sold.

That would leave just Kemar Roofe, Fashion Sakala and new signing from Atalanta Sam Lammers as attacking options.

Brighton, meanwhile, have enquired about the Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus, who is also attracting interest from Manchester United.

The 22-year-old Ghana International has been linked with Everton and Liverpool in the past and is eager to leave Amsterdam for the Premier League this summer.

De Zerbi needs a midfield replacement for Alexis Mac Allister, who joined Liverpool for £35m at the beginning of the month.

The Seagulls are also preparing to lose Moises Caicedo, who is wanted by Chelsea and Man United.
