Brighton & Hove Albion are considering a £15million bid from Serie A side Salernitana for French forward Neal Maupay.

The 25-year-old forward scored eight goals in the Premier League last season, but now nears an exit from the Seagulls after they've reinforced their attacking department this summer.

Maupay is out of contract next season and so Brighton may look to cash in on the player that has been their top scorer in each of the past three years.

According to The Athletic, Brighton have received offer is worth around £15 million (€17.6m) from the Italian side.

The Frenchman faces competition up-front from Danny Welbeck, Leandro Trossard, Denis Undav and Julio Enciso next season, which could lead to his departure.

He boasts a record of 27 goals in 109 appearances since signing from Brentford for £14million in 2019.

Salernitana narrowly avoided relegation last season after securing 18 points from their last 15 matches to stay in the top flight.

Meanwhile, Brighton are in talks to sign Austria holding midfielder Florian Grillitsch, 26, who is a free agent after leaving Hoffenheim.

Grillitsch spent five seasons in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim and can play in both midfield and defence.

The Austrian has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal, but Brighton are set to snap up the versatile star from under the noses of the Gunners and bring him to the Amex Stadium.
