Adam Lallana will sign for Brighton and Hove Albion on a three-year contract after his six-year spell at Liverpool came to an end.

The 32-year-old bid an emotional farewell to team-mates and staff at Liverpool's Melwood training ground on Friday ahead of the champions' final league game of the season.

Lallana had interest from Leicester City, Everton and Burnley among others.

However, he is expected to sign a three year contract with Brighton after being convinced of their project by technical director Dan Ashworth who has pursued him since January.

He has already collected his belongings from Melwood, Liverpool's training complex, and will likely not be part of the squad that takes on Newcastle for the finale of the elongated top flight campaign.

His spell with Liverpool has seen Lallana secure the Champions League trophy, the Premier League title, the UEFA Super Cup and also the FIFA Club World Cup.

His final interview with the Reds was an emotional one and he departs after making 178 appearances across all competitions.

The English forward scored 22 goals and created as many assists in his 178 matches for the Premier League giants.
