Granada moved to the top of LaLiga Santander with a 1-0 win over Real Betis at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes on Sunday.
Former Betis youngster Alvaro Vadillo scored the only goal of the game in the 61st minute when he found a way past Joel Robles at his near post.
Granada threatened to double their lead in the minutes afterwards and hit the post through Ramon Azeez.
The ball immediately rebounded to Carlos Fernandez, who could only direct his first-time effort over the bar with the goal at his mercy.
Rubi brought on Joaquin and Borja Iglesias for the visitors to try and get back into the game, but the hosts held strong to take a sensational leap to the top of the table.
Granada now lead LaLiga Santander for the first time in their history and will stay at the top until Tuesday at the earliest.
They have 20 points after 10 LaLiga Santander matches, with Barcelona behind them on 19 points after nine games.
Betis, meanwhile, fall into the relegation zone on goal difference following the defeat.
