Saka makes long awaited injury return for Arsenal after three months out

Bukayo Saka needed just seven minutes to show Arsenal what they had been missing as he scored on his return after three months out with injury.

The England star was thrown back into the action in the 66th minute against Fulham on Tuesday night, receiving a standing ovation from the Emirates Stadium faithful.

And he gave them something to cheer about seven minutes later when he arrived at the back post to head into an empty net after good work from Gabriel Martinelli.

Remarkably, after missing so much of the season, it was Saka's 10th goal of this campaign and it gave the Gunners a 2-0 advantage.

It was just the news Mikel Arteta needed with the first leg of their Champions League last-eight clash with Real Madrid just a week away.

Manager Mikel Arteta hinted that Saka could make his comeback in the London derby, by saying the 23-year-old was 'ready to go' ahead of the match.

And he certainly proved that by getting on the scoresheet.
