Sean Dyche continued his last minute recruitment drive on Tuesday night by snapping up Derby County goalscorer Matej Vydra for £11million.
Fresh from completing the £3.5m transfer of Joe Hart from Manchester City, the Burnley manager accelerated the move for Derby's Vydra with a deal that is expected to see Nahki Wells move the other way on an initial loan.
Vydra, who scored 22 goals last season and saw an £11m move to Leeds United fall through last week, underwent a medical on Tuesday ahead of agreeing a three-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.
'For the last four years I have been fighting to be in the Premier League.' Vydra told Burnley's official website.
'I haven't done it with the teams I was playing for and sometimes it has to be done with a transfer and now I'm so happy.
'My ambition is to play in the best league in the world so thank-you to the gaffer here and to Burnley for giving me a hand to play in the Premier League and now it's about me to show he chose the right person.'
Dyche had been expected to return to West Brom with an improved bid for Jay Rodriguez but has held off so far.
However, not content there, Dyche has also discussed a potential £15m deal for Everton's Yannick Bolasie but the Congo international's £70,000-a-week wages could yet prove the stumbling block.
Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough have also asked about the 29-year-old.
Middlesbrough hold an interest in Burnley striker Sam Vokes but face competition from a number of Championship clubs.
