Burnley are trying to finalise a move for Swansea City full-back Connor Roberts.
Sportsmail revealed Burnley's interest back in June after the Wales international enjoyed a stand-out season in the Championship.
He followed that up with impressive displays for Wales in Euro 2020 but was struck down by a groin injury in their last-16 defeat to Denmark.
Subsequent surgery ruled him out for most of the summer and looked to have jeopardised his chances of a move away.
However, he has worked hard to recover and returned to training with Swansea's first team prior to last weekend's game with Preston North End.
A product of Swansea's academy, Roberts has 30 caps for his country and has one year left on contract. He is valued at around £5m but Burnley are hoping to strike a lower bargain.
Swansea face a battle to keep hold of some of their best players. Captain Matt Grimes also has one year left on contract and is attracting bids from Fulham while Bournemouth are also keen. Swansea rejected £2.5m for the 26-year-old over the weekend.
For their part, Burnley signed Maxwel Cornet from Lyon for a £12.9million and are looking to add a couple of loans also before Tuesday's 11pm deadline.
