Burnley have released their new green third kit which is aimed at helping the environment.

The club, who unveiled their home and away strips for the new season earlier this summer, will wear the new kit against Arsenal at the Emirates this weekend.

And they have announced an Evergreen programme where, for every shirt purchased, they will plant one tree to help offset those lost by deforestation.

The trees will be planted at Whitehough Outdoor Centre in Pendle; a 22-acre outdoor education facility, nestled in the heart of the Pendle countryside and operated by the Club's official charity.

Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer of Burnley FC in the Community, said: 'We are delighted to be part of this unique initiative with Burnley FC.

'The climate crisis is a global emergency, but this is about thinking local and making a change here in our corner of East Lancashire.'

The shirt will go on general sale on Saturday, August 31 in the Clarets stores at Turf Moor and Charter Walk, and online, priced at £45 for adults and £35 for children.

Sean Dyche is hoping Burnley can end their losing run against Arsenal this weekend.

In his time at Turf Moor, Dyche's team have taken points against all the top Premier League teams except Arsenal, with the Clarets losing 10 games in a row since a 1-1 draw in 2009.

Both teams began their seasons with victories, Burnley impressively beating Southampton 3-0 while Arsenal edged to a 1-0 win over Newcastle.
