Burnley have seen a £15million deal for Lyon wide man Maxwel Cornet accepted by the French club, according to reports.
Sportsmail revealed earlier this month that the 24-year-old, who can play as either a winger or a full-back, is one of several wide targets being considered by the Clarets in the final week of the window.
Cornet has been a regular figure for Lyon, having scored 51 goals in over 250 matches for the Ligue 1 club since joining from Metz in 2014.
And according to Sky Sports, Cornet is now contemplating the decision between staying at Lyon or moving to Sean Dyche's squad ahead of the transfer deadline.
Cornet moving to Turf Moor would be a significant moment for the Clarets, with the Ivorian close to becoming Burnley's first foreign signing since Steven Defour joined from Anderlecht in 2016.
Out of the 22 players in Sean Dyche's squad, only four of their first-team players - Chris Wood, Matej Vydra, Erik Pieters and Johann Berg Gudmundsson - were not born in the United Kingdom or Ireland.
The change in transfer policy comes just months after American owners ALK Capital took over the club.
The Clarets are undergoing an overhaul of their entire club and came into the opening weekend of this season without a technical director, chief executive, academy director and even head of communications.
Cornet, meanwhile, is quick and has an eye for goal against English teams in recent years, scoring four times in three Champions League ties against Manchester City for Lyon.
He has featured just once for the French club in their opening three matches of the Ligue 1 season, not being named in the matchday squad for the other two.
Burnley have only made two first-team signings all summer, bringing in Stoke defender Nathan Collins for £12m, though is set to be a back-up option to James Tarkowski and captain Ben Mee this summer.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy arrived at Turf Moor earlier this summer after his release from Crystal Palace, but will play as second fiddle to Nick Pope.
Burnley lost their opening two matches of the Premier League season, suffering a home defeat to Brighton despite taking the lead early on before being comfortably beaten 2-0 by Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.
