Cardiff announce Neil Harris as their new manager

Cardiff have confirmed former Millwall boss Neil Harris as their new manager, succeeding Neil Warnock.

Cardiff have appointed Neil Harris as their new manager on a contract until the summer of 2022.

Harris replaces Neil Warnock, who left his post earlier this week, with Cardiff in 14th place in the Championship.

As reported by Cardiff's official website, David Livermore will be Harris' assistant, with James Rowberry and Andy Dibble continuing in their positions as first-team coach and goalkeeping coach respectively.

Cardiff owner Vincent Tan commented upon Harris' appointment, saying: 'I am pleased to appoint Neil as First Team Manager of the Club.

'I have full confidence in Neil due to his principles on and off the pitch and enthusiasm to succeed. I am glad to offer him this opportunity and look forward to seeing what he is capable of achieving with Cardiff City.'

Harris was manager of Millwall from 2015 to 2019, earning them promotion to the Championship in 2017.

As a player Harris had a short loan spell at Cardiff in 2004.

The 42-year-old's first game in charge of the club is set to be away to Charlton next Saturday.

With the Bluebirds having won just one of their last six games, it has been a challenging time for a club that was in the Premier League last season.
