Carragher says West Ham fans are 'bang out of order' for 'Moyes out' banner

Jamie Carragher has hit out at West Ham supporters for displaying a 'Moyes out' banner during their last game against Nottingham Forest.

Forest won the game 2-0 with Hammers fans heaping the pressure on the Scottish manager.

West Ham have failed to win a single game since the start of 2024 and are in the middle of a winless run of eight games in all competitions.

The visiting fans sang 'You're getting sacked in the morning' to their own manager and another defeat against Brentford on Monday could be the last straw.

Speaking on Monday night Football, Carragher said: 'I want to start with the banner. I think that's bang out of order.

'This is a guy who has given you the best night you have ever had in your life for 43 years. That European night and the trip they have been on, they are some of the greatest nights West Ham have ever been on.

'It's not just about the football, it's going away with your mates, the memories. That night they had, the best night they had since sort of 1980. Who knows how long it will be until they win another trophy?

So for me the banner forget that, he deserves a lot more respect than that.'

'I totally get where the fans are coming from. They want to go to the games and see their team on the front foot.

David Moyes mentioned there was a contract offer on the table. I actually think it's better for all parties if they part ways.

David Moyes has done a brilliant job there but at the end of the season if there's unrest in the crowd you don't need that getting into October, November next season and it becoming toxic. The time for me for David Moyes to move on is in the summer.
