Celtic captain Scott Brown capped off a successful afternoon as chief wind-up merchant by poking fun at rivals Rangers in his post-match interview, following Celtic's crucial victory.

Brown led his side to a 2-1 win over their foes at Celtic Park, resulting in a 13-point gap opening up at the top of the Scottish Premier League.

The 33-year-old veteran star was involved in all the huge moments in the match, and was responsible for red cards issued to both Alfredo Morelos and Andy Halliday. An altercation with Ryan Kent also saw Brown hurled to the floor, but the Liverpool loanee somehow managed to avoid a dismissal.

Speaking to Sky Sports following the final whistle Brown was in a cheeky mood, and could not resist having on final dig.

'I don't even remember it,' said Brown on Kent striking him in the face, despite it being one of the key moments of the match.

'He just gave me an elbow and you can't do that, especially in modern day football with the amount of cameras around, but I think it's all about us today,' said Brown of his altercation with Morelos.

Many pundits and fans alike immediately began to speculate that Brown has purposely tried to rile the Colombian, whose poor disciplinary record has mounted all season.

Following the final whistle Brown was seen celebrating in front of the Rangers supporters, much to the frustration of his opposite number Halliday.

'He came up to congratulate me,' said Brown tongue-in-cheek of the incident, despite cameras clearly showing Halliday to be incensed.

The Celtic captain let slip a little smile as the interviewer queried, 'really?' but refused to elaborate further.
