Celtic's Karamoko Dembele has opted to play for England's youth sides instead of Scotland's, according to The Sun.
The 16-year-old, who made his first-team debut for Celtic in May, had been turning out for both England and Scotland at Under-16 and Under-17 level.
But now it appears Dembele has chosen to represent England, at least while at youth level - he would be able to revert back to Scotland until he makes a competitive appearance for the senior team.
The agile playmaker has made more appearances for Scotland at youth level then England.
He has made eight appearances for Scotland Under-16s and two for Scotland Under 17s, while the number of appearances for England's Under-15s and Under-17s total five - he actually played for Scotland in a win against England in July 2017.
Dembele is also technically eligible to represent Ivory Coast, having been born in London to parents from the African county before moving up to Glasgow at the age of one.
Whilst disappointed, chiefs at the Scottish FA have reluctantly accepted Dembele's decision, and are quietly optimistic the starlet could come back and play for Scotland in the future.
Dembele first gained public recognition as a 13-year-old, when a video playing seven years up for Celtic Under-20s went viral.
Not out of his depth, he continued his ascent up the age groups, signing his first professional contract with The Hoops in December 2018 - a deal until 2021 in order to ward off interest from other clubs.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon handed Dembele his first-team debut at the back end of last season, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 2-1 victory against Hearts.
The teenager also received a Scottish Premiership winners medal, and his place on the substitutes bench for the Scottish Cup final victory - also against Hearts - meant he was the recipient of a winners medal for that competition too.
