Leicester City incredibly threw away a three-goal half-time lead to lose 4-3 to Southampton on Tuesday and see their winless run extended to six Championship matches.
With a six-point deduction confirmed last week, too, this miserable stretch has left Leicester in serious danger of suffering back-to-back relegations.
It had looked as though the Foxes, led by interim boss and club legend Andy King, would move clear of the bottom three when they raced ahead at the King Power Stadium.
Divine Mukasa and Patson Daka were on target inside the opening 13 minutes, and it was 3-0 before the half-hour mark as Abdul Fatawu got in on the act with a blockbuster strike.
The second half was a very different affair, however, and Ross Stewart's goal gave Southampton hope.
It was still no more than that heading into the final 10 minutes, but a truly remarkable conclusion saw Jack Stephens and Ryan Manning draw the Saints level before Shea Charles' gorgeous 96th-minute effort completed the turnaround.
Leicester remain level on 32 points with Blackburn Rovers, who occupy the final relegation place, having played a game fewer.
And they are four points ahead of Oxford United, who were beaten 3-0 by a resurgent Norwich City, recording their fifth win in six to move seven clear of the drop.
Mohamed Toure, signed from Randers at the end of the January transfer window, marked his first Norwich start with a hat-trick.

Elsewhere, West Brom nudged a point closer to safety after a goalless draw at neighbours Birmingham City.

Goals from Mukasa and Daka meant no team in the Championship have scored more goals in the opening 15 minutes of matches than Leicester, but that was not the only familiar trend that continued against Saints.
Only Wrexham (20) and Derby County (18) have dropped more points from winning positions than Leicester's 17, while they have lost three home matches in a row in the same Championship campaign for the first time since the 2006-07 season.
