Charlton youngster Aaron Henry has hit the headlines after scoring a David Beckham-esque goal from the halfway line.
The youngster scored straight from kick-off as Charlton Under-18s defeated Manchester United Under-18s 4-2 in a friendly last week.
Henry spotted the keeper off his line and showed a quick bit of thinking to run straight up to the ball and lob him with an audacious and powerful first-time strike from 45 yards.
His team-mates mobbed him in the centre of the pitch as the United players stood in astonishment after watching it sail over the keeper's head and into the back of the net.
Fans were quick to urge the club to tie him down to a long-term deal with one writing on Twitter: 'Sign him up!' after the video of his goal was posted on social media.
As it turns out this was nothing knew to his team-mates. Henry regularly tries to pull a fast one on keepers and almost caught the Hull one off guard with the first kick of the match two Saturdays ago but his effort drifted wide.
That did not stop him from attempting it again. In the second half he came closer to scoring from the halfway line but the keeper managed to save it.
His goal against United's youngsters is proof that practice does make perfect then.
Henry has been a key figure in Charlton's U18 side, starting two of their opening three games.
The Addicks have made a strong start to the season, winning their first three and notably registered a 7-1 victory over Hull.
Henry also received many plaudits for a stunning assist in a 2-1 win at Leeds in the first game earlier this month.
Keep this up and who knows, we may just see Henry in the Championship this season.
